SEPTEMBER 30th, CONFERENCE COCKTAIL-DINNER at Santa Barbara Castle.

The BIOPOL Organization will offer a cocktail-dinner at the Santa Bárbara Castle (Castillo de Santa Bárbara).
The castle is located on Mount Benacantil, a rocky massif rising 166 metres above sea level in the city center. This position gave it an enormous strategic value. From the summit it is possible to see the entire Bay of Alicante and the surrounding stretch of land. Bronze Age, Iberian, and Roman artifacts have been found on the slopes of the mountain, but the origins of the castle date to the ninth century at the time of Muslim control of the Iberian Peninsula. The rock was named Banu-lQatil by Muslim geograher Al-Idrisi.
